In 1640, the Freile family was adjudicated, directly by the King of Spain,
the title of ownership to the Hacienda San Francisco and its annexes. And 20
years ago, Don Pedro Freile, current proprietor, opened his doors to
hundreds of travelers, inviting them to enjoy the beauty of Ecuador.
The Hacienda San Francisco is located just 2 ½ hours from the city of Quito. Traveling via the routes of Imbabura, you will pass through towns internationally renowned for their culture and artesania (handicrafts), such as Otavalo, Cotacachi, and Ibarra, until you arrive to Chachimbiro, prestiged spa of thermal springs, located 3 km from the hosteria.
Due to its seigneurial architecture, it has been converted into an ideal vacation spot and stands out for its gastronomy specializing in traditional "hacienda" cuisine and the foods typical to the region in which it is located.

The Hacienda San Francisco is a country hotel, located in the province of Imbabura, just 3 km from the Chachimbiro Spa. It opened its doors as a hosteria more than 20 years ago as a picturesque manor house with the marvelous Chota Valley below. |
